OLDSMAR — Noelle Stillman, a Palm Harbor resident, has been selected as the city’s trail mural at Sheffield Park. The selection process included reviews by both the North Pinellas Cultural Alliance and the Oldsmar City Council. Stillman holds a master’s in art education from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and is an art teacher in the Pinellas County school system. She is currently working on the Collaborative Mural Project at Sandy Lane Elementary in Clearwater.

The Oldsmar mural will be near the north entrance of the park and will include a series of images of pipeline swallowtail butterflies, a native species in Pinellas County. Sheffield Park was chosen because the park is seeing an increase in foot traffic, according to Samantha Demmi, the city’s arts coordinator.

This is the second public art project for Oldsmar. Last year, Lakeema Matthew of Tampa created two murals on the sides of the bandshell at RE Olds Park. Stillman will receive $2,000 for her work.
